New models, User Interface, and AI

First off, We've made some new models of UNSF bases!

and also, I've edited some of the Menus, to make them a bit more streamlined.

And Finally, I've done a lot of work on the AI, to make them operate a little better, and started working on a formation and command system, so you can give orders, like attack, defend, or go to commands. This will be available, at least in part in the next update.

Combat Demo!

I've made a short Demo level for anyone curious about Eye of Dawn. In this you get to fly:

  • An Assault Corvette, equipped with two explosive round rail guns, and a missile launcher that launches a barrage of 6 High Impact Missiles,
  • A Light Craft, Highly maneuverable and equipped with Impact Lasers.
  • A Fighter Corvette, also very maneuverable and equipped with Lasers and a 12 missile barrage.
  • A Bomber Corvette, equipped with lasers, a 4 missile barrage and a 5 megaton nuclear bomb launcher.
Use these powerful ships to defend a convoy against an ambush of Na-Wo attackers.

Stay Tuned for more excitement!

New Weapons Systems, and Models!!

Hey everyone! I've been working pretty hard on Eye of Dawn for the last few weeks.

The first thing I've done is make a new weapons system, which adds weapon overheating, but there isn't currently any HUD Icons for that. It should only take a few minutes to implement that once we've made all of the proper gauges and such.

Second, I've added a missile barrage system, so you can fire not two simultaneous missiles, but a staggered barrage of missiles. This looks a lot cooler and actually makes it easier to hit your target, and speaking of which......

It's also pretty easy to hit them when you're locked on! That's right! now you can Lock on to a target and your missiles will chase them down. Also your HUD will give you a "hull scan" showing a blue bar for each ship in range!

I've also tried my hand at a little modeling. here's a rough draft of a space station.

That's eventually going to have a few bells and whistles to make it a little more interesting to look at. but you get the gist of it. Here's a shot from inside the hanger:

Development has been pretty exciting this month, so I'm really looking forward to working on this more and more as the summer months get closer. Thanks for viewing and please share this news with your friends!

You'll be given a standard Assault Corvette, it will serve you well, should you utilize it. On Titan, We have many services to allow you build up your fleet, and discover the local system. At your current rank, you will not be permitted to warp out of the local system, but if you choose to complete enough missions, promotions will be available.

It was a long fight that we were destined to lose from the beginning. The Leviathan and their slaves, the Mantus, had constructed a super weapon, capable of rendering a Class M planet, like our own, to a volcanic wasteland. This is the Eye of Dawn, the planet killer. We few, less than half of a percent of the Earth's population must now flee into the vast ocean of space, to find a home. Who knows what is out there. Who knows what villains lurk in the deep reaches of the unknown. We have only begun to test ourselves in the boundless universe, but now our small fleet, the last of our species, must set sail into the great void. And to our enemies that have forced us away, beware. One day we will be ready for you, and we will never forget our home.
